Strengthening of personal skills in abused children exposed to domestic violence (FOCOP)

Description of service / project: With the aim of improving and expanding the services offered to children, this project sought to make an intervention based on positive psychology and therefore, based on the increase of personal protective factors in childhood.
The objectives were to identify and enhance personal skills and set aside a time to enjoy positive emotions, offering strategies to these children/through which the personal skills of each child were detected, expanded and strengthened through three main modules: (1) Theoretical module, where resilience and its characteristics, self-concept, positive self-esteem, happiness, optimism, humor, love and healthy couples’ relationships were worked on by means of various activities carried out by psychology professionals (2) Practical module, aimed at performing artistic activities through which the children expressed, represented and communicated their experiences, ideas and feelings, at the same time exercising intellectual, emotional and sensitive functions, so they can fully develop their creativity, which in turn increases personal skills to deal with certain adverse situations; and (3) Virtual reality Module, for the induction of positive emotions and the setting up of of a life project.
