Presentation of study results "the invisible victims of domestic violence".
Description of Project: The aim of this study was to determine the psychological consequences of 160 children of women victims of domestic violence treated in different units in 4 Autonomous Regions of Spain and the relation to the type of violence exposed to.
The specific objectives were: (1) to estimate the type of abuse mothers had received; (2) to determine the type of mistreatment received by children, distinguishing between: direct physical and emotional abuse, exposure (knowledge of, , hearing , witnessing consequences ...) to the abuse of the mother or involvement (trying to defend mother, attacking father, asking for help ...) to the mistreatment of the mother; (3) To find out the past and present conditions of the abuse and the nature and extent of the current conflict with the father and / or partner. Duration of mother and child abuse, current status regarding mother and children and (4) to discover the type and comorbidity of the psychological problems of the children.

Participants: 140 children from La Rioja, Extremadura, Murcia and Mallorca were included in the study.
