
Strengthening personal skills with children exposed to domestic violence through assisted therapy with horses in the wild
Description / Aims: The project aims to improve the psychological attention offered to children exposed to domestic violence (TUTELADOS) and exposed to gender violence), complementing traditional psychological interventions focused on psychopathological aspects, with assisted therapy with horses in the environment, known as "Hippotherapy".
Through this equine therapy we work from basic attentional processes such as attention, perception and memory to emotional-behavioral ones such as self-esteem, social skills, self-control, problem solving, strategic planning, self-instruction, etc.

Users attended to: 25 children exposed to domestic violence, 12 protected by the local authorities residing in foster homes, and 13 exposed to domestic violence.
